About Us
History
- The South Metro Safety Foundation has its
origins dating back to a dairy farm about 5 miles east of Parker. It was
there, that Adam Miller, from Elizabeth, and Dorothy Miller, a teacher from
Lakewood, made their home.
The Millers left a portion of their estate
to the Parker Fire District in 1983. In 1986, the Parker Fire Protection
District dedicated these funds to creating a safer community through
prevention education.
The Adam and Dorothy Miller Lifesafety
Education Center, Inc. (a.k.a. South Metro Safety Foundation) is a nonprofit
organization started by the Parker Fire District Board of Directors in
1991.
Goals
- To educate the citizens in basic
emergency medical care, enabling citizens to become an integral part of the
lifesaving system.
- To maintain and expand fire, injury
and accident prevention curricula for targeted grade levels in the schools,
the residents and businesses within the community.
Mission
Statement
The South Metro Safety Foundation is dedicated
to the support and augmentation of education for the general public in life
